GroupWise Agent for ViewWise®
For
those users that use GroupWise as an e-mail platform
and require a fully featured, comprehensive
IDM solution,
the new GroupWise Mail Agent offers the ability to:
- Store
GroupWise documents (including emails with attachments)
directly into
ViewWise
- Search both ViewWise and GroupWise for content
- Save
GroupWise documents / email to the ViewWise in-tray
subsequent processing
ViewWise® allows
archiving of GroupWise email and their attachments.

ViewWise integrates with GroupWise by adding three
icons to the standard GroupWise
toolbar – one for indexing and saving GroupWise
items to ViewWise, one for saving GroupWise items
to the ViewWise input tray, and one for finding
items previously stored in ViewWise.
Indexing & Saving GroupWise
Content into ViewWise
The “Direct Save” feature will save
selected GroupWise items (including e-mails with attachments)
directly into ViewWise – prompting
the user to provide any necessary index information, or to select a template
and automatically
populate the index values from the selected items. Once in ViewWise the
items are immediately accessible to other ViewWise users(2).
The “Save
to Input Tray” button will send the selected GroupWise
items (including e-mails with attachments) to the ViewWise Input Tray,
where the user, or another user, can then review, index, and file into
ViewWise at
a later time.
Locating & Retrieving ViewWise content
from GroupWise
The “Find in ViewWise” option
will display the ViewWise Find dialog, permitting
the user to enter any applicable index-based or full-text
search
criteria and perform a search of the content stored in ViewWise. All
items
found to be
matching the criteria will be displayed in a ViewWise-generated hit list.
The user can double-click on any item listed, launching the ViewWise
Desktop Client
and opening the corresponding ViewWise document.
