Front End Capture

Automated Input Processor

The Automated Input Processor allows you to rapidly store your documents into ViewWise® from multiple external sources. The AIP allows the mass import of structured content from output produced by a third-party application, such as front-end forms capture packages. Some examples of the type of content the AIP can recognize:
  • Electronic Data + Metadata
  • High speed Batch Scan Input + Metadata
  • Forms Extraction App. Output + Associated Documents
  • Migration of Documents and or Metadata

Whether you use front end capture software or have a third party providing you with the documents and references, the Automated Input Processor will make those documents readily available for your business needs saving you time and money.

The AIP is designed to run unattended, monitoring one or more folders for new content to be processed. The content can be scanned in images, or other electronic documents. The AIP will look for a structured file defining each document, its index field values (metadata) and the location that it is to be filed, inside of ViewWise.

You can use the AIP to automate the loading of document content data and index information from other systems as part of a conversion process, automate the periodic transfer of data and indexes as part of a production workflow, such as loading check images or health-claims documents created by specialized ‘upstream’ processes and use industry leading front-end forms and/or capture software and have the AIP then create your documents in ViewWise without user interaction.

Much of the feature set that is now standard in the AIP has come directly from the field; here are some of the features available in the latest version:
  • Mass import of, or append of, structured content into ViewWise.
  • Custom parsers* to convert output from third-party application to a structured batch input format (.bif)
  • Dynamic or Static folder designation.
  • Bring in named or unnamed files as pages (any image or electronic file using known filenames or wildcards).
  • Timed polling to check for new content in up to 10 locations.
  • Versatile logging options for auditing and troubleshooting.
  • Exception management processing built-in.
  • Optionally create Templates for mapping of third-party metadata to ViewWise index fields.

* A parser is a custom stand-alone application or script written for the application generating the output. The parser will format the output into the AIP's .bif format, allowing the Reseller a flexible customization option to meet a customers needs, and realize additional Professional Services revenue.

The AIP has been used in conjunction with many third-party front end packages, including:
