Metastorm and Computhink Announce Business Alliance Partnership
e-Work Connector Combines Business Process Management and Integrated Document Management for Enterprise Customers

Columbia, MD, November 12, 2003 – Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software for automating, managing, and controlling processes, and Computhink, Inc., a leader in imaging and integrated document management (IDM) solutions, today announced a multi-tiered partnership that will allow enterprise customers to integrate Computhink’s ViewWise and Metastorm’s e-Work flagship products.

Under the terms of the agreement, enterprise customers can now leverage BPM capabilities through Computhink’s ViewWise e-Work Connector, which allows companies to integrate ViewWise 5.5 document content with Metastorm's e-Work. The integration enables customers to eliminate paper intensive tasks by importing any ViewWise document into a BPM workflow, allowing for greater agility and control over human intensive processes.

"This partnership makes perfect sense, as both solutions are aimed at empowering customers with the tools to automate and streamline the unique and routine processes that drive a business,” stated Eric Amster, vice president of Americas Operations for Metastorm. "By integrating these solutions, enterprise users now have access to a powerful resource to offset administrative burdens and achieve immediate and significant returns on operational efficiencies."

The ViewWise 5.5 IDM systems are designed to simplify the data management process of all file formats and maximize productivity. They offer intuitive user interfaces, immediate access to versions/revisions, new focused search interface complemented by full text and distributed search, searchable document comments, automatic email for sending documents to a predetermined address, consolidated document listing, and document check-in/out for mobile computing.

"The increased scale and complexity of our customers' business challenges require that they take a more strategic approach to document and process management," said John Torkelson, president and CEO of Computhink. "Today's announcement with Metastorm brings our joint customers the best of image, document and process management in one integrated deployment, as well as providing existing customers of each company the opportunity to expand their capabilities with proven integration of products."

The Croatian Institute of Civil Engineering has already utilized the joint offering to integrate large volumes of paper documents into easily accessed enterprise-wide resources.
