Computhink and PowerScan Alliance integrates High-end Software Capture/Processing and Enterprise
IDMS as a complete solution for SME markets
Lombard, IL and Sterling, VA, April 3, 2003 – Computhink and PowerScan today jointly announced a partnership to integrate Computhink’s ViewWise™ IDMS with PowerScan’s IDEA™, the next generation of image capture and processing software. Through the alliance, businesses utilizing this combined/integrated solution will be able to tightly couple and leverage the complementary strengths of both products to achieve end-to-end system features and benefits not available from any single supplier in the small-to-medium sized Enterprise (SME) marketplace.

PowerScan’s IDEA, the next generation of image capture and processing software, eliminates the costly and recurrent expenses associated with dedicated interface boards, by offering a software-only-solution. IDEA’s innovative scalable, "snap-in" architecture allows for better integration of the capture and processing functions than was previously available. IDEA allows resellers to offer their customers a reasonably priced, high capacity image capture and processing solution that is now tightly integrated with Computhink’s ViewWise IDMS. ViewWise then offers the benefits of seamlessly providing a highly featured, secure, permanent document and records repository, both for the captured images as well as for hundreds of types of electronically originating documents. ViewWise’s image/document enabling capabilities can also be employed to integrate with the customer’s application environment, as well as allow access to documents and data via the Internet.
Both companies will promote the integration together with their products in their worldwide direct and indirect sales channels and operations as well as engage in joint marketing activities.
